Our summer camps help 3rd-6th graders establish a biblical foundation for their faith. We support the incredible ministry of a Children’s Minister by relieving them of most duties. You focus on your kids while your adults lead the small group Bible studies of 9-12 kids. That way the ministry goes home with you and continues to grow!
We have designed our theme to help your kids understand:
Day One - God’s Word is treasure. (Psalm 119:11)
Day Two - God’s Word tells us the greatest treasure is Jesus. (Mark 10:21)
Day Three - People who treasure Jesus above everything else will talk about Him. (Matthew 6:19-21)
We filter everything your kids experience through our theme, from dramas and games to sermons and Bible studies. We pray they will return home with their hearts turned away from temporary earthly “treasures” and toward abundant life in Jesus, our treasured Savior.
We design our Christian summer camps for 3rd-6th graders. Worship services and Family Groups make up the two most important parts of a day at Camp. Worship services include drama by All Things To All People®, praise music from trusted, experienced worship leaders and sound biblical teaching from gifted communicators. Family Groups are made up of 9-12 kids, one or two Student Leaders and one or two Adult Family Group Leaders. Kids spend much of their organized Camp time with their Family Group.
We strongly believe in the 52-week ministry of the local church, so we design our one week Christian summer camps to support a Children’s Ministers’ 51 weeks of incredible work.
Second graders are up to you. If they're normally a part of your group, they're welcome at Camp. Just be aware that they'll be classified as 3rd graders. There is no programming or childcare available for younger children or preschoolers. However, since many Children's Ministers would like to bring their families to camp, we will do our best to accommodate these situations for Children's Ministers only. Accommodations vary, so give us a call.
Many adult leaders will be asked to serve as Family Group Leaders. Bible Study materials will be available online. Family Group leaders serve as motivators and encouragers during Recreation, lead Bible Study for their Family Groups and facilitate the activities during Family Group Investigate. A Family Group Leadership Meeting each morning will prepare adults for that day’s activities.
It goes back to the philosophy of supporting the local church. Getting adults involved in what happens at Camp allows friendships, accountability and connection to get on the bus with the kids as they travel home. We also believe that small groups work best when they are actually small (9-12 kids). This size facilitates good discussion and allows kids to feel comfortable.
It's up to each church. If you prefer for your kids to spend this time with your own church, choose Independent Family Groups and the Children's Minister will assign Family Groups. If your kids would like to spend Family Group time with kids from other groups, we'll put them in Mixed Family Groups. These kids will be in a Family Group with their roommate.
We request one adult for every seven kids.
Camp is designed for Children's Ministers to be free from a lot of responsibility so they can spend time building relationships with their kids. Children's Ministers will gather together each evening one hour before worship service for a prayer and share time (while the kids are in Family Group Investigate). For this reason, it's best for Children's Ministers not to serve as Family Group leaders. This is an extremely important aspect of Student Life For Kids.
Though we have numerous goals, it ultimately comes down to people. Is life change happening in kids, adults and us? In Scripture, every time someone spent time with Jesus, they went away changed. We hope all of us leave this experience changed. Not because of technical effects, entertaining dramas, challenging recreation or even meeting new people; we are changed because we have been with Jesus.
