Student Life Fotr Kids Camp
Student Life for Kids Is

QUIET TIME:
Quiet Time is a time to gather together as a Church Group and emphasize the importance of personal time in the Word. Many Children’s Ministers use this time for a group devotion and prayer time, and then allow their children to sit quietly and read through the Quiet Time article in the “Student Life For Kids: The Magazine” that they receive at camp. It is important to note that Quiet Time will occur while Family Group Leaders are in Family Group Meeting, so it is important that Children’s Ministers do not serve as Family Group Leaders.

CELEBRATION:
At camp kids will wake up to Morning Celebration, a dynamic, high-energy worship service-the first organized activity of the day. Like all corporate worship events at camp, Celebration includes a fully designed backdrop that serves as the set for All Things to All People (AT2AP) actors. Held in a sanctuary or auditorium, Celebration incorporates modern technology and multi-media, including lights, a state-of-the-art sound system, and two full video screens that ensure everyone has a great view of the stage and all the words to each praise song. In addition to displaying front-row views of dramas, teaching, and worship, the full screens roll AT2AP short films that get students excited about camp, illustrate spiritual truths, drive home the camp theme, and more.

FAMILY GROUP BIBLE STUDY:

A Family Group consist of 9-12 students and a few adult leaders. Family Groups are designed to foster intimacy, honesty, and accountability. Children’s Ministers can decide if they want their children to be in a Family Group with kids and leaders from other churches, or if they would rather meet with students from their own church. Family Groups are designed to give Children’s Ministers a break from the responsibility of teaching so that they can focus on building relationships with their students. Therefore, invested adults from your local church should lead Family Groups.

RECREATION:
Adults and children will play organized water games, adventure games, ball games, and more during Recreation with their family group. Student Life Recreation staff oversees all Recreation activities. Each Recreation Leader heads a color squad (Blue, Green, Orange, and Red Squads.), and each color squad encompasses several Family Groups. Each color squad will experience a different kind of Recreation each day, Water Games Day and Outdoor Games Day. Some games are designed to teach Bible verses or incorporate Bible trivia. Family Groups, who always experience Recreation together, build unity and mutual trust as they play. Adult leaders have the chance to give their students confidence as they play with them and cheer them on.

FAMILY GROUP INVESTIGATE (F.G.I.):
This evening gathering for Family Groups provides an additional opportunity for small group fellowship where Family Group leaders can relax and laugh with the kids in their Family Group. Family Group Investigate provides a structured opportunity to reinforce and apply the truth kids learned earlier in the day’s Bible study through hands-on and group activities.

CHILDREN’S MINISTER MEETING:
The Children’s Minister meeting is a special time before worship for Children’s Ministers to meet together as a community to pray for kids at camp and to be prayed for by other ministers and the Student Life staff. This meeting provides an opportunity for Student Life staff to relay pertinent camp information to Children’s Ministers, and it is the place where mail, emails, and gift certificates from home can be picked up.

CORPORATE WORSHIP:
Each evening at camp, children will experience authentic worship and engaging teaching in Corporate Worship. Trusted, experienced worship leaders will lead praise and worship songs, and the camp pastor will bring a compelling message that builds on the camp theme. Like all corporate worship events at camp, Evening Worship includes a fully designed backdrop that serves as the set for All Things to All People (AT2AP) actors. Held in a sanctuary or auditorium, Corporate Worship incorporates modern technology and multi-media, including lights, a state-of-the-art sound system, and two full video screens that ensure everyone has a great view of the stage and all the words to each praise song. In addition to displaying front-row views of dramas, teaching, and worship, the full screens roll AT2AP short films that get students excited about camp, illustrate spiritual truths, drive home the camp theme, and more. Many worship services include opportunities for your students to be involved in leading worship.

LATE NITE:
Late Nite is a loud, exciting, and high-energy camp program lead by the drama team, All Things To All People. Kids look forward to Late Nite, because it provides the opportunity to see themselves on the recreation video or to play a game on stage. One of the favorite moments of Late Nite is the Children’s Minister Challenge where Children’s Ministers compete on stage throughout the week for the title of “Children’s Minister of the Week”. Adult chaperones especially tend to appreciate Late Nite, because it drains kids of their energy making them more likely to go to sleep at the 10:30pm Lights Out!

CHURCH GROUP TIME:
Church Group Time provides an opportunity for Children’s Ministers to end each day of camp in a setting with the children and adults from their church. Church Group Time is designed for the Children’s Minister to lead the group however he/she determines is best for their group. It is a great opportunity to play together and to share what the Lord is teaching individuals in your group.
